Support Apps

Women experiencing family violence are able to take control of their story by installing a smartphone app that enables them to identify, document and record patterns of intimate partner behaviour that make them feel scared, unsafe, or intimidated.  Wesnet are Australia's NGO Experts on Technology and Violence Against Women.  They have conducted a review of the current available domestic and family violence apps.  The reviews allow you to make an informed choice about which app may work best for you. The Arc App was developed by the Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria and is free to download and use.  The information on the app is securely stored in a cloud so that if you need to delete the app from your phone, your information remains and can be accessed by reinstalling the app. Further information is available at https://www.arc-app.org.au/

The Penda App was developed by the Women's Legal Service Queensland and is free to download and use.  The app provides legal and tech safety information for survivors of domestic and family violence and safety planning features.  The app can be disguised on your device as a functional game.  Information can be located at https://penda-app.com/

The Daisy App was developed by 1800RESPECT in conjunction with Medibank and is free to download and use.  The app provides domestic and family violence information, support services and safety planning.  Parts of the app are a available in multiple languages.  Further information is available at https://www.1800respect.org.au/daisy/

The Sunny App was also developed by 1800RESPECT and Medibank and is free to download and use.  This app is designed to assist women with disabilities experienceing domestic and family violence.  Further information is available at https://www.1800respect.org.au/sunny/

There are also a number of apps available designed to assist separated parents with managing shared custody of their children.  The apps may assist with planning visitations and managing expenses without the need to speak directly to the other partner.  These apps can be located at the below links
