Victim and Survivor (National and State Contacts)

DV Connect offer free counselling services for Queensland residents 24 hours a day 7 days per week through their Womensline service. 

They support victims of domestic and family violence by providing qualified counsellors who may assist with safety planning, sourcing emergency accommodation, arranging temporary care for pets and providing information and pathways to other support services in your local area.

DVConnect Mensline is a free, confidential telephone counselling, referral, information and support, service for Queenslanders identifying as male who may be experiencing domestic and family violence.

This service is available 9am until midnight, 7 days a week.

A free national phone and online chat service 24 hours a day 7 days per week for anyone are experiencing domestic violence. They offer support by providing qualified counsellors to listen and support. 

1800 RESPECT caters to all Australians including:

  • People who don't speak English
  • People who find it easier to speak through an interpreter or translator
  • People who are blind or vision impaired
  • People who are deaf or hearing impaired
  • People who don't speak or have difficulty with speech

Lifeline is a free national phone and online chat service providing access to 24 hours 7 day per week crisis support and suicide prevention services. 

Calls to lifeline from mobiles are free. Even if you have no credit you can still call this number.

Lifeline provides phone counselling, crisis support and suicide prevention.  Lifeline also provide online chat support between 8:00pm and 4:00am 7 days per week
